JW & CasaMagna Marriott Resorts Celebrate Dia de los Muertos

JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa and CasaMagna Marriott Cancun Resort have announced that they are offering a number of deals aligned with Dia de los Muertos, otherwise known as Day of the Dead, a holiday marked in Mexico by lively gatherings, colorful costumes, and ancient traditions to honor the souls of the departed.

Dia de los Muertos festivities begin on the first of November with All Saints Day, which honors infants and children. For this reason Mexicans often refer to this day as “Dia de los Angelitos,” or “Day of the Little Angels.” Celebrations continue on November 2 with All Souls Day, which honors adults who have passed on. Though customs vary throughout the country, common traditions include visiting the gravesites of deceased loved ones, building alters in their honor, and offering symbolic tokens such as sugar skulls and marigolds.

Available over the holiday weekend, the “Sand Dollars” package includes a complimentary fourth night when three are booked, plus daily $50 resort credit. The offer is valid for travel through December 30.

Also available during Dia de los Muertos, the “Experiences” package includes luxury accommodations with daily $100 resort credit and complimentary Internet access. Offer is valid for travel through December 21.

All offers are based on availability and subject to blackout dates. Other restrictions may apply.
