JW Marriott Essex House New York Offers Wine Classes and Package

Heads up, oenophiles! The JW Marriott Essex House New York is offering some cool perks for fans of all things wine-related: Earlier this year, the hotel partnered with Kevin Zraly’s Windows on the World Wine School for weekly classes. The Fall session runs through November 17; classes run both Spring and Fall semesters.

Zraly takes his wine students around the globe in a classroom tasting setting, exploring great wines from France, California, Spain, Italy, Chile, South Africa and New Zealand. Good for guests: The hotel has encouraged Kevin Zraly to choose wines for his classes from its 1,200-bottle wine cellar. (We hear last semester’s selections included the Pouligny-Montrachet 2006, Louis Carillon; Corton Grand Cru 2006, Comte Senard; and Silver Oak 2009.)

While the classes generally run for two months, JW Marriott Essex House hotel guests can attend individual classes, with 10-12 wines tasted per session—talk with the concierge for details. (New Yorkers or those visiting for longer can take the full semester.)

To enroll, call (845) 255-1456 or visit www.kevinzraly.com.

Wine connoisseurs and beginners will also enjoy the Wine Experience on the Park package, which includes hotel accommodations overlooking Central Park and a flight of four wines, selected by Kevin Zraly, while perusing his tasting notes. An autographed copy of Zraly's Windows on the World Complete Wine Course is also included, for those who want to delve further. A special JW Essex House wine stopper is available to take home, and guests can also visit Southgate Bar & Restaurant, where they can choose any single bottle on the wine list and receive 20 percent off.

The package is available now through May 15, 2015. Visit www.jwmarriottessexhousenewyork.com and click on Deals and Promotions. Enter Code ZJ9 for the Wine Experience on the Park Package.
