Kensington Tours Launches Cruises with Mark Terry

Kensington Tours has announced two exclusive cruises, one to the Arctic and one to Antarctica, hosted by polar explorer and filmmaker Mark Terry.

The first cruise, titled “Out of this World Adventure: North Pole Expedition Cruise with Mark Terry”, is slated from June 30 to July 13, 2013. The other cruise, “The 8th Continent: Antarctic Adventure Cruise With Mark Terry”, is slated from December 9 to 20, 2013.

In addition to arctic safaris, iceberg trekking, penguin encounters, polar bear swims and zodiac rides hosted by Terry, travelers will be given daily lectures, scientific presentations and intimate screenings of his documentaries, “The Antarctica Challenge: A Global Warning” and “The Polar Explorer”, both made in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme.

Terry, who has worked with such global organizations as the United Nations, and is a member of the Royal Geographical Society, is a Kensington explorer-in-residence. He is the 2011 winner of the Gemini Humanitarian Award and recipient of the Stefansson Medal for his international field work documenting the natural world. As a documentary filmmaker, he has been producing films for more than 20 years. He is also a member of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, the Explorers Club, the Canadian Council for Geographic Education, and the University of Alberta¹s Northern Research Network.
