KLM Gets Cuisine from Amsterdam's Hotel De L'Europe for World Business Class

This sounds like a fun combination: Amsterdam’s Hotel De L’Europe and Dutch airline KLM will join forces this fall to bring unique dishes from the hotel’s top chef Richard van Oostenbrugge to the airline's World Business Class seats. Available from October 26 through January 22, 2015, the two Michelin-star Bord’Eau Executive Chef’s menu will include dishes with "international flare and quintessential Dutch flavors," we hear.

Recently dubbed ‘Chef of the Year’ by Gault Millau, Chef Oostenbrugge’s menu selections include chicken medallions in Thai coconut sauce, Dutch fillet of sole with sauce of mussel and mousse of Manhari chocolate and blackcurrants.

Christope Attard, marketing managing director, North America for Air France KLM; and Paul Elich, EVP inflight services for KLM at a New York City reception.

“Like KLM, [van Oostenbrugge] is Dutch with a flare of international allure,” EVP Inflight Services Paul Elich said in a statement. “Richard has developed a wonderful menu for our WBC passengers incorporating a taste of home.”

For his part, Oostenbrugge said that the partnership would showcase “Amsterdam’s culinary soul.”

Previous KLM World Business Class menus have been designed by leading Dutch chefs and sommeliers including Sergio Herman, Richard Ekkebus, Jonnie Boer and Mario Ridder
