The L.A. Hotel Downtown to Re-open as Hyatt Regency-branded Property

The Shenzhen New World Group, a China-based ownership group, has announced that its independent hotel, The L.A. Hotel Downtown, will debut as a Hyatt Regency-branded hotel this May. To be reflagged as Hyatt Regency Los Angeles Downtown, the hotel is currently undergoing a $20 million renovation that is expected to bring a “modern, elegant and contemporary design”, as well as service upgrades to each of the 419 guestrooms and 72 suites, public spaces and corridors, meeting and event areas, business and fitness centers, concierge lounge, restaurants, and lobby.

The L.A. Hotel Downtown’s renovation pays tribute to the property’s “vibrant and central location” by infusing a bold color palette of reds, oranges, and beiges through its clean, minimalistic design. Each guestroom and suite will be redone in a more welcoming palette of colors, and will feature new carpet, wall treatments, drapery, and all-new bedding and furnishings, as well as upgraded bathrooms and work areas.

The hotel will receive new design upgrades as well as new floor plans for its more than 22,000 square feet of meeting and event space, which includes 17 meeting rooms, two ballrooms, including 4,000 square feet of pre-function space.

The hotel is located in the hub of the downtown district at 333 South Figueroa Street in Los Angeles, California. The L.A. Hotel Downtown is managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, a US-based global hotel management company.
