LAX Unveils Terminal Six Redesign Renderings

The Westfield Group today revealed its new design concept for LAX’s Terminal six concessions redevelopment.  Inspired by LA’s Sunset Boulevard, the renovation will incorporate bright and bold design elements, which will enhance the travelling experience. The redevelopment will feature a portfolio of eighteen local and global retail and dining brands that capture the distinct LA style.

Coined ‘The Boulevard’, Westfield hopes to unify the terminal’s three disjointed buildings into one coherent destination.  The unique LA style will be captured in the use of digital technology, architectural lighting and cohesive use of materials, all of which will be combined to replicate the experience of traveling from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Coast Highway.

Last week, Westfield released Terminal sixes Competitive Evaluation Process, and is currently seeking proposals from qualified restaurateur and retail brands.

Terminals two’s redevelopment is also well underway, with completion expected by 2015. ‘LA in motion’ will be the theme, as a collection of twenty one retail and dining options are to be introduced.
