Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) has announced an expansion of its global sales team in the Northeast and Midwest U.S. regions, appointing Lisa Kaplan as director of sales in the Boston Global Sales office, and Michelle Lauer as director of sales in the Chicago Global Sales office.
In their new positions, Kaplan and Lauer will be responsible for assisting meeting professionals, association executives, incentive specialists, business executives and convention specialists in their respective regions with ALHI Global Sales Organization (GSO) services and professional sales support.
Before assuming her new role with ALHI’s Northeast U.S. Global Sales team, Kaplan served as key account director for the financial, banking & insurance markets for InterContinental Hotels Group in Boston for 15 years. She has also held a position as director of global accounts for Westin Hotels & Resorts for 10 years, also based in Boston. In her new role, Kaplan will oversee the M.I.C.E. (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions/Conferences and Exhibitions/Events) marketplace in the Northeast U.S., with a focus on New England and New York City, as well as focusing on the financial, banking and insurance sectors in the region. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire.
Michelle Lauer joins ALHI’s Global Sales office in Chicago after serving for three years as senior sales manager for Hyatt Regency Chicago. Previous positions also include several years serving Midwest clients in various property-level and regional sales positions with Hyatt and Marriott. Lauer’s new responsibilities include overseeing the meetings, conventions and incentive marketplace in the Midwest U.S. region, with a focus on Accounts in Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), and holds a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant, Hotel, Institutional and Tourism Management from Purdue University.
