Luis Pinheiro has been named regional director for the Leeu Collection and general manager of Le Quartier Français in Franschhoek, South Africa.
Pinheiro will start on September 1, overseeing all operational activities at Le Quartier Français.
Based at Le Quartier Français, his initial main focus will be to ensure continuity after the recent acquisition of the property by Leeu Collection. This acquisition is part of the launch of the new brand, which comprises in its first phase, Leeu Estates, a 21-room luxury boutique hotel and winery in the picturesque Franschhoek valley, and Leeu House, an exclusive and private five-star 12-room hotel in the heart of the Franschhoek village. Pinheiro’s role was created after the purchase of Le Quartier Français and the imminent opening of Leeu House on December 1, 2015, and Leeu Estates in 2016.
Born in Mozambique, Pinheiro has a diploma from the American Hotel & Motel Association in Hotel Management and has managed properties such as the Mount Nelson and Table Bay hotels in Cape Town, Reid’s Palace in Madeira and the Lapa Palace in Lisbon
