Luxury High Rise Hotel Planned for Qatar's Lusail City

Looks like Qatar's newest city will be getting a major improvement: Hotelier Middle East is reporting that Qatar-based Katara Hospitality has announced the latest plans and developments for the Katara Towers, Lusail Marina District Towers, currently underway in Lusail City.

When complete, the project will have four exclusive islands and 19 multi-purpose residential, mixed-use, entertainment and commercial districts that, combined, will be able to accommodate up to 450,000 people.

But we're most intrigued by the Iconic Towers in Lusail, which will have a five-star hotel and a six-star hotel (haven't seen many of those) as well as branded apartments. Additional perks will include a man-made satellite beach-front island for a mix of leisure and water sports facilities, dining outlets as well as water parks.

Ground-breaking for the property will begin later this year, and the official opening of the project is expected in early 2017. Designed by architectural firm Kling Consult, the hospitality complex will cover more than 3 million square feet.
