The portfolio of FRHI Hotels and Resorts, including brands like Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel Hotels and Resorts has been on the go lately coming up with tons of new ideas for each of their brands. Raffles Hotels and Resorts has a lot going on appealing to the senses recently. For starters, Raffles Paris recently opened Matsuhisa Paris with world-renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. This marks the first Matushisa restaurant in France, bringing Matsuhisa’s contemporary vision of Japanese cuisine and his Peruvian-Japanese menu, complete with an array of Nobu’s signature dishes: Albacore tuna sashimi with jalapeno peppers, black cod with miso and sashimi tacos and more. In terms of drinking, Raffles has partnered with Sipsmith, the pioneers of London’s artisanal gin. Together, the two have created a new bespoke spirit, 1915 Gin. Fun fact: Sipsmith’s co-founder Sam Galsworthy is the great, great, great nephew of Sir Stamford Raffles, whom the Raffles flagship was named after. Raffles also has a new hotel on the rise: Raffles Europejski, set to open in Warsaw, Poland in late 2017. Located in the historic district of Warsaw next to the Presidential Palace, the significant restoration of the historic landmark will offer 103 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant with an outdoor terrace and seasonal menus, a bar and cigar lounge and a patisserie.

Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has also been working on developing new and restoring old properties. Over a dozen locations across North America, including the Fairmont Empress and the Hamilton Princess & Club, are undergoing restoration and preservation projects. Bermuda’s iconic harbor side resort, Hamilton Princess & Club, recently celebrated the completion of the third and final phase of the $100 million, two-year restoration process. Fairmont Austin, the first hotel to provide direct access to the Austin Convention Center, recently unveiled the first look at the property’s guest room design. The luxury hotel is on track to open in August of 2017. Late 2018 brings the new Fairmont Costa Canuva, a new 250-room luxury hotel and private residences property along the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico. The property will complement its sister hotel, Fairmont Mayakoba, located on the opposite coast of Mexico.

Good to know: Looking to travel green? Then support the bees by staying at a Fairmont property. Fairmont Hotels has partnered with Pollinator Partnership to create habitats for bee nesting and reproduction. Wild mason bees, some of the most effective pollinators on earth, can now visit ten new luxurious bee hotels to relax in the United States. Fairmont now has more than 40 honeybee apiaries and pollinator bee hotels around the world, helping combat the habitat loss that is a leading cause for the world’s wild bee population.
