Luxury Offerings Announced by Anantara

Anantara’s first hideaway in China, Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa, has announced that it is offering luxury escapes to Hainan Island, dubbed the “Oriental Hawaii”.

Situated on the southernmost tip of Hainan Island in China, Sanya lies in the southern valley of the Wuzhi Mountain range and boasts over 200 kilometers of coastline. Sanya’s Phoenix International Airport is the second largest on Hainan Island, while Sanya harbour has become an important port for deluxe passenger ships and foreign trade.

Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa’s offerings include: a discovery of a diversity of folk culture, characterized by dance, art, handicrafts, cloth and bamboo weaving, music and festivals, as well as fairy tales, myths and legends; exploration of the Luhuitou Peninsula by kayak; morning bicycle rides, taking in a view of mountains and the ocean; and a rainforest hike that reveals a haven of betel nut trees and mangroves.

For golf enthusiasts, available is the Luhuitou Golf Club, an 18-hole 72-par course spanning 7,310 yards of green under palm trees on a stretch of southern coastline. Meanwhile, the Anantara Spa brand offers treatments that draw on China’s tea rituals and age-old practices.

Inspired by oriental and Thai design, the Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa has 122 rooms, suites and private pool villas offering luxury stays along Sanya’s coastline, with an emphasis on spa accommodation. Dining options include: four restaurants and bars comprised of an all-day dining restaurant Shi Yuan, serving international breakfast buffets, followed by lunch and dinner menus; and Baan Rim Nam, which offers Thai cuisine.
