Maybourne Hotel Group Adds Three New General Managers

The Maybourne Hotel Group is welcoming a collection of new general managers. Find out who is taking the helm at Claridge’s, the Connaught and The Berkeley.

Paul Jackson

Claridge’s, in London’s Mayfair, has named Paul Jackson as the new general manager. Jackson brings 25 years of experience to the hotel. During his career, he has worked in Europe, Australia and in South East Asia. For the past five years, he has been the general manager at the Mandarin Oriental Sanya, China.  Previously, he was the resident manager at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, where he managed the renovation of the hotel’s rooms and suites.

Jackson began his career at Claridge’s, where he held several positions, including night manager and assistant banqueting manager. He left the hotel to become the assistant to the master of the household in the Royal Household at Buckingham Palace.

At the Connaught, Massimiliano Binda has been named the new general manager. Binda joins the Connaught from the Mandarin Oriental Pudong in Shanghai, where he held the position of hotel manager from 2012. Binda began his career, of more than 24 years, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. Since then, he has spent time in London, Munich, Geneva, Marrakech, Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Binda graduated from the Instituto Professionale “L. Cobianchi” and Instituto Professionale “Franzosini” Verbania, Italy, after which he also attended courses at the École hôtelière de Lausanne. Binda replaces Nathalie Seiler-Hayez, who left to become Directeur Général at Beau-Rivage Palace Lausanne.

Finally, Knut Wylde has been named the new general manager of The Berkeley. Wylde has worked at some

of London’s most prestigious hotels, including The Savoy, St Pancreas Renaissance Hotel, 45 Park Lane and The Lanesborough. Since March 2014, Wylde was the hotel manager at Claridge’s.

Wylde has also held positions outside of London. He has worked at Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean as well as at the One & Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives.
