Big news from Beantown: Taj Boston has unveiled its new Tata Suite, named in honor of Jamsetji Tata, the founder of Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces. The 1,540-square-foot corner suite, previously called the Presidential Suite, has brand-new interiors with subtle touches of India and the Tata family history strewn about.
The Details: The suite has a large parlor with windows overlooking Boston’s Public Garden and Commonwealth Avenue, a dining room that can seat up to six (plus a kitchen area), an entertaining area with wet bar, and a master bedroom and a second park-view bedroom, both with private marble baths.

And, of course, guests of this swanky suite get a ton of extras and perks (think around-the-clock butler service and access to the exclusive Taj Club, the hotel’s private lounge with panoramic city views and food and beverage presentations that we’ve heard are “inventive”). Tech Note: We hear the suite has the city’s best bandwidth for high-speed wired and wireless Internet.
While all of the design aspects of the suite sound divine, we love the mahogany and inlaid wood furnishings, including tables, coffee tables and sideboards original to the 1927 building, which have all been restored. The wet bar, meanwhile, has a new sink and hardware to make the perfect cocktail.
Also, guests should keep an eye out for the Indian-designed lamp and framed photograph of Esplanade House (the original Tata family home in Mumbai) in the entranceway to the suite.
