Mohonk Mountain House, in New Paltz, New York, is introducing their new winter wellness program created by Nina Smiley. The programming will include fireside meditation, winter forest bathing, and mindfulness lectures.

In Search of a Good Night’s Sleep – Fireside Meditation: Guests will meditate around one of the resort’s many fireplaces, where they will learn simple techniques to quiet the mind and prepare the body for a full night of sleep – something that more than two-thirds of Americans say they have trouble achieving.

Forest Bathing on Winter Trails: Based off the ancient Japanese healing techniques, the forest bathing – that is, the immersion in nature – will bring guests outdoors to hike, snowshoe, or cross-country ski though the Shawangunk Mountains to take in the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley.

Beating the Winter Blues: With the colder weather comes the urge to enjoy in comfort foods and holiday treats. Dr. Smiley will offer a lecture that teaches guests how to practice mindfulness in order to nurture the mind, body, and spirit during the cold months.

In addition to the new wellness programs, Mohonk Mountain House also offers a multitude of winter activities, including: snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, snow tubing, daily afternoon tea by the fire, and a variety of spa treatments.
