A one of a kind immersive experience is coming to New York City in the fall of 2017: National Geographic ENCOUNTER: Ocean Odyssey. Set to open in Times Square on 44th and 8th, the 60,000 square foot venue will transport visitors through the depths of the ocean, experiencing all that lives down there along the way.

Guests will embark on an adventure starting in the Solomon Islands and drifting through the Pacific Ocean to the California Coast. Throughout the experience, visitors will engage in virtual play with rays, dolphins and a bioluminescent coral reef in the evening. Adventurers will come face-to-face with ocean creatures like humpback whales, Humboldt squids and great white sharks, as well as interact with playful sea lions before ending their underwater exploration with a surprise grand finale.

The event is produced in partnership with SPE Partners, LLC, a New York-based entertainment developer. The creative team of National Geographic ENCOUNTER: Ocean Odyssey is composed of Academy Award-, Grammy- and Emmy-winning composers, sound engineers and designers, as well as an Oscar-winning visual effects team.

Don’t forget: As a timed, ticketed experience, National Geographic ENCOUNTER: Ocean Odyssey will also offer a private event space for school groups, social events and corporate functions.
