The German National Tourist Office just released new details on The Fontenay, Hamburg's first new luxury hotel in 18 years. The property will open its doors on the Alster Lake in fall 2016.
The Fontenay will have 131 guestrooms and suites, plus a small, 40-seat Micheline-starred restaurant. The hotel's wellness area will have an infinity pool with views of the Alster Lake.
We hear that Hamburg-born star architect Jan Störmer has been tapped to design the hotel. Initial plans call for all guestrooms and suites to have lake views.
