New Luxury Hotel to Open on Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island

This week's first Luxury Abu Dhabi announcement (there are so many!) is a new five-star hotel on Saadiyat Island. According to Hotelier Middle East, the development will include a sand-bottom swimming pool when it opens in 2015. No brand has been announced yet for the property...or even a name.

The hotel will be built on a huge plot on Saadiyat Island and was bought by UAE developer Bin Otaiba Investment Group. We hear it will have 366 rooms and beach villas, restaurants, a spa and gym, conference facilities for up to 800 guests as well as that sand-bottom swimming pool.

Bin Otaiba is currently speaking to a number of hotel operators to manage the hotel, and the company's its portfolio of properties already includes the Hilton Sharjah, Millennium Hotel Abu Dhabi and the Embassy Suites Hotel in Sharjah, which is also currently in the final stage of appointing an operator.

Saadiyat Island is the hub of Abu Dhabi’s tourism plans, the article noted, with the Louvre Abu Dhabi set to open in 2015, followed by Zayed National Museum in 2016 and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi in 2017.
