Kempinski Hotels has taken over management of the San Clemente Palace Venice, an historic luxury hotel set on the lagoon of Venice.
Ten minutes by boat from St. Mark's Square, the historic palace hotel currently has 190 rooms and suites. After the winter season, the hotel will open its doors as the San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice on March 24, 2016.
The private island on which the hotel is set is spread over more than 17 acres and offers beautiful gardens, historic monastery buildings and a church dating back to the 12th century. There are also three restaurants and three bars, as well as a heated swimming pool in the garden, a tennis court, a driving range with view of the lagoon and a gym and treatment rooms.
The hotel also offers six convention rooms for up to 400 people, and together with the whole complex and its surrounding grounds can host weddings and other festivities for up to 1,200 guests.
