New Speakeasy Opens in NYC's East Village

The secret's out! We just got wind today of a brand-new speakeasy set to open in New York's East Village. The new lounge and bar Camp David is set to open tomorrow, April 23, to offer New Yorkers a top social retreat.

Named after the actual Camp David, which was designed to offer Presidents a place for solitude, the Camp David in NYC will be exclusive, offering nightlife elements with a sexy lounge-like atmosphere.

The scene: As guests approach the red light at the front door, they are welcomed to push through the door to enter the space. Once inside, Edison lights set the mood by mimicking candles for an ultra-sexy vibe. Cubbyholes line the entire right Venetian plaster wall.

We suggest sampling the Airmail, with lemon, honey, Venezuelan rum and Prosecco, or the Fancy Free with Angostura, orange bitters, Maraschino and Rye Whiskey. Patrons can also order Spanish small-plates, such as La Chupeta or The Lollipop with melted Parmesan cheese over Iberico Ham.
