New York City Hotels Offer Special Egg Hunt Packages

Fabergé’s The Big Egg Hunt has officially kicked off in New York, and hotels around the city are getting in on the action.

As we reported last week, more than 250 egg sculptures, each individually created by some top artists and designers, will be strategically displayed throughout New York City’s five boroughs. Visitors and locals alike can race to spot as many as they can and compete to win a Fabergé gemstone prize. At the close of the event, the highly collectable sculptures designed by the likes of Diane von Furstenberg, Bruce Weber, Carolina Herrera, Jacques Torres and William Wegman will each be auctioned by Sotheby’s with all of the proceeds going back into the spotlighted charities.

Trump International Hotel & Tower New York has launched a family-friendly Big Egg Hunt Package. Trump New York will also be participating in the hunt by hosting three of the custom designed eggs on property (one by fashion designer Naeem Khan, one by interior designer Rachel Waldron and one by artist Minyan Huang) – the most of any hotel partner in the city. The Columbus Circle hotel will be the starting point for the city-wide scavenger hunt.

Families who book the Big Egg Hunt Package will get a do-it-yourself gold-egg-making-kit.

Reservations for the Big Egg Hunt Package are available through April 24 for guests traveling April 1 – 26.

The Hôtel Plaza Athénée, meanwhile, will host an egg inspired by the classic children's book character Babar the Elephant. On Saturday, April 5, April 12, and April 19 from 3-5 pm at Hôtel Plaza Athénée, families can visit for “Tea Time with Babar.”

The three afternoon teas, part of an ongoing Babar-centered celebration with the hotel, will include a drawing contest for kids (the winner gets an autographed Babar book) and the chance to pose for pictures alongside Babar himself. Grown-ups will appreciate specially designed Fabergé Big Egg Hunt cookies from the iconic Magnolia Bakery. To make a reservation, families can call (212) 734-9100.
