New York City's Plaza Hotel Celebrates Eloise

"I am Eloise. I am six. I am a city child. I live at the Plaza." Kids around the world grew up with Kay Thompson's Eloise, who (in the popular childrens' books) lived in New York City's iconic Plaza Hotel. Hilary Knight's illustrations brought Thompson's words to life almost 60 years ago, and now the hotel has partnered with the artist to give the ageless child new adventures.

The special collaboration launches with a birthday tea celebration on November 4, hosted by Hilary Knight.  From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., guests can join Knight in The Palm Court for tea, treats and a book signing. Bonus: Each child will receive a gift bag at the conclusion of the event.

Then the hotel and the artist will introduce a holiday-themed limited edition print of Eloise, the first in a six-part series.  Throughout the year, Eloise enthusiasts will get to see Valentine’s Day, Easter, the fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas-themed prints.  Fans who purchase all six prints will receive a custom seventh birthday-themed print, signed by Knight with a special custom inscription.  Each series will include 100 prints, available for $250 each.

Going forward, The Plaza and Hilary Knight will be releasing additional themed print series in 2014 and 2015.  These will feature Eloise in well-known settings from her series of adventures as a world traveler in favorite destinations from New York to Moscow; and a series featuring Eloise in her favorite locales at The Plaza, the place she calls home.
