Nobu Settles at Fairmont Monte Carlo

Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa, celebrity chef and owner of Nobu restaurants, has announced that he is settling down until June 9 in the Principality of Monaco at the Fairmont Monte Carlo.

Born and raised in Satama, Japan, Matsuhisa followed an apprenticeship in a respected sushi bar in Tokyo, before seeing his dream become reality with the opening of a sushi bar in Peru. He is known for his fusion cuisine, mixing traditional Japanese dishes and South American ingredients. In 1987, he opened his own "Matsuhisa" restaurant in Beverly Hills. In August 1993, Matsuhisa partnered with Hollywood actor Robert De Niro and they opened NOBU. Other Nobu restaurants were subsequently inaugurated in Tokyo, Milan, London, Honolulu, as well as in Beijing, Moscow, Dubai and Budapest. Today, there are 24 NOBU restaurants in 21 different cities around the world, spanning across four continents. Among the specialties of Matsuhisa are the black cod yuzu miso, the wagyu gyoza, and the King crab leg with shiso salsa.

Fairmont Monte Carlo boasts 602 guest rooms, residences and suites; two restaurants; a bar; 18 meeting rooms; shopping arcade; in-house casino; and the Willow Stream Spa.
