Adrian Zecha—the founder of Amanresorts—has stepped down from his position of chairman and CEO. Johan Eliasch will take over as chairman while Vladislav Doronin, a real estate developer and the lead investor, has been named CEO. Over the years, the group has won a devoted following of Amanjunkies.” Today there are 26 luxury resorts in 18 countries including Bhutan, Greece, Montenegro, Morocco, and the U.S.

Virtuoso is expanding its strategy to enlist agencies within Europe, adding to the list of 20 countries where it already has travel agency members. As is standard practice for this by-invitation-only organization, Virtuoso will vet interested agencies and accept those that represent the top in their given market based on industry reputation as well as luxury product quotient and sales.

Iván Bauzá is the new director of sales and marketing at The Setai, Miami Beach. With more than 15 years’ experience working in the domestic and international group, Bauza will expand his role from director of sales to now lead the sales, marketing and reservations team.
