Palace Resorts’ President Jose Chapur Zahoul Recognized as Business Man of the Year

Palace Resorts announced the brand’s president, José Chapur Zahoul, has been recognized as Businessman of the Year in the Tourism category by Mexico’s Confederation of the National Chambers of Commerce (CONCANACO). Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and national CONCANACO leader Enrique Solana Sentíes presented Chapur with the award at a ceremony.

Chapur leads one of the country’s most prominent hotel chains, Palace Resorts, which totals over 5,000 rooms and a workforce of 8,000 people. The Chapur family became pioneers in the all-inclusive resort concept in Mexico when they founded Palace Resorts over 30 years ago.

In 2014, Palace Resorts expanded for the first time outside of Mexico with Moon Palace Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios. Situated on the north coast of Jamaica, the resort is easily accessible from the Montego Bay airport.

More notably, the Chapur family founded the Palace Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to solving social issues in the communities in which the brand’s properties are located. The Palace Foundation serves through five action-oriented committees: Dreams, Educational, Health, Environmental, and Social Welfare.
Guests who book a Palace Resorts stay of five nights or more will receive $1,500 resort credit, which can be used on spa and beauty salon treatments, golf outings, dinners, wedding packages, and off-site excursions and tours.
