Photography MasterClasses at Mayakoba

Mayakoba, an eco-resort in Riviera Maya, has teamed up with three top names in wildlife photojournalism - National Geographic Magazine contributing photographers Steve Winter, Tim Laman and Brian Skerry - for a new series of "Wildlife Photo MasterClass" weekends.

The intensive three-night program lets photographers of all levels step into the role of a nature photojournalist as they capture some of the more than 200 species of birds and native wildlife within the sanctuary of Mayakoba.

MasterClass students will receive one-on-one and group guidance on all aspects of photography from Winter, Laman or Skerry. Through lectures and daily hands-on field excursions with the photographers, as well as their personal company during meals, the workshops provide an opportunity for nature enthusiasts to sharpen their techniques.

Guests will stay at Banyan Tree Mayakoba and will receive three nights accommodation in a Luxury Pool Villa; one-on-one guidance; welcome conference; daily waterborne and walking excursions; excursions to nearby reserves and heritage sites; welcome cocktail and hors d'oeuvres, daily breakfast, a lunch and dinner for two at Banyan Tree Mayakoba's restaurants; gift certificate from Banyan Tree Mayakoba Gallery; and 20 percent off all Banyan Tree Mayakoba Spa services.

The dates are September 4-7 with Brian Skerry; October 30-November 2 with Steve Winter and December 11-14 with Tim Laman.
