Porsche and Delta Expand Transfer Program to Three Additional Airports (VIDEO)

Delta and Porsche have recently announced their program's expansion to three more airports; Detroit's Metropolitan Airport, New York's LaGuardia Airport, and Seattle's Seattle-Tacoma International. These are in addition to their already serviced airports in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York's JFK and Minnieapolis' St. Paul.

The service is exclusively for SkyMiles Diamond Medallion Miles customers and includes a a gate-to-gate transfer service in a Porsche vehicle. In the past year, the service was used by more than 35,000 customers.

Diamond Medallion customer's have to be added to the priority list by Delta's Elite Services team in order to use the service. Although Porsches cannot be requested in advance, a fleet of 19 vehicles are available to assist high-status customers in between flights.

According to Delta’s Elite Services Team, the “surprise element” of the service makes it more appealing to fliers by treating them to an unexpected bonus.  Customer's are greeted at the airport boarding door where they are then escorted, along with their baggage, to a Porsche that will bring them to their connecting gate.

"Our continuing partnership with Porsche gives us hundreds of opportunities to save the day by offering unexpected pick-ups in an even more unexpected vehicle, with a unique surprise and delight to connect them to their destination," says Customer Experience Director, Cheryl Scheck.
