Luxury Hotel Buzz: Conrad Algarve to Debut in 2012

Conrad AlgarveA near-perfect climate and glorious beaches make Portugal’s Algarve region a favorite of sun-seekers. The dramatic southern coast is also known for its history and natural beauty; the Ria Formosa Natural Park—dotted with Roman ruins—protects a magical lagoon landscape of sandy barrier islands. At the gateway to this natural paradise, located at Quinta do Lago at 20 minutes from Faro international airport, a new luxury hotel by Conrad will be opening in fall 2012.

In an article on the “Coolest New Hotels for 2012,” MSN Travel says that the Palacio Valverde—with its “158 rooms spread between lakes, swimming pools and themed gardens stretching across 1,400 square meters”-- will bring “21st century style to the Algarve.” Each of the guest rooms will have a balcony, top-notch entertinament system, and marble bathroom. Afternoon tea will be served in the Lago Lounge, and the Gusto Restaurant will highlight grilled-to-order meat and fresh seafood. Conrad promises “one of Europe’s most decadent spas,” and there will also be tennis, golf, a fitness center, and an outdoor swimming pool.
