The Former Hyatt Key West Resort & Spa has now reopened as the Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa, following a multi-million dollar refresh. The resort now incorporates the Hyatt Centric brand philosophy: providing intuitive travel opportunities that focus on local offerings and experiences.

Located in Old Town of historic Key West, the waterfront property comprises 120 guestrooms, each with private balconies with views of the Gulf of Mexico. After the renovations, rooms now offer amenities like Moleskin journals, Drybar Buttercup blow dryers and eco-friendly Bee Kind bath products. Other amenities new to the hotel include authentic Cuban coffee, new colorful furnishings and artworks influenced by the island and novels to read that incorporate Key West’s history, from authors including Ernest Hemmingway and Tennessee Williams.

Another aspect of the hotel that’s been upgraded is the Blue Mojito Pool Bar and Grill. Now featuring blue hues and green accents, the new pool bar offers enhanced ocean views, accommodations for larger parties, new booths and tables with custom woodwork, an indoor chandelier, outdoor ceiling fan and backlit glass signage, new televisions at the bar, new dining chairs, side chairs and bar stools as well as new translucent murals and additional wind protection on the waterfront.

The resort’s Jala Spa also underwent significant updates, most notably including a change of location to the resort’s ground floor and the addition of a third treatment room as well as a manicure and pedicure station. New furniture, updated shower fixtures, paint and tiles as well as finishes in the bathroom and treatment rooms and new wood floors use natural color tones to reflect Key West’s natural landscape from within the spa.

The Hyatt Centric experience was designed for travelers who want to be in the center of the action. Created for millennial-minded travelers, the hotels are designed to enable exploration and discovery and are located in spots where travelers can easily explore – like to Duval Street, Mallory Square and Ernest Hemingway’s Home and Museum – all located near the Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa.
