This fall, set sail on an expedition through the Galapagos on Ecoventura’s MV Origin, named after Charles Darwin’s "Origin of Species." Guests abroad the 10-cabin sustainable mega-yacht can select from four specialty itineraries, offered for a limited time only, including a nature, yoga, photography and culinary themed departure.

The Alpina Gstaad is offering a two-night package from July 13 to September 1 to celebrate the 62nd Gstaad Menuhin Festival, a music festival held every summer. The festival will have performances of works from Brahms, Donizetti, Tchaikovsky and Wagner, all made accessible by the hotel’s "Menuhin in Motion" package, which includes tickets to a performance in addition to two nights of luxury accommodations.
The theme of this year’s Festival is “The Alps,” with music composed in mountain settings amidst soaring peaks. Sixty-seven concerts will be performed in 11 venues, including seven medieval churches. Since last year, Jaap van Zweden, who has been named the new director of the New York Philharmonic for the 2018-19 season, has led the Gstaad Festival Orchestra. Under his direction, the festival will kick off in the 13th Century Saanen Church with violinist Daniel Hope, winner of the 2015 European Cultural Prize for Music, and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra performing Vivaldi and Max Richter.

For the third year in a row, Las Vegas topped the 42 million visitor mark in 2017, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). That trend is expected to continue with the LVCVA forecasting a just-shy-of-the-record count of 42.7 million visitors for 2018.
The destination also continues to enjoy industry-leading occupancy rates — averaging 88 percent over the last four years — with an exceptionally large base of nearly 149,000 available rooms. That inventory always includes rooms in new properties as well as expansions and renovations of existing accommodations. Upgrades to amenities such as restaurants and spas are also part of the equation, spurred by the always desert-hot competition among the city’s hotels. ID Travel Group has launched a new incentive for travel advisors. From now until April 30, 2018, advisors can earn an extra $1,000 bonus commission when booking groups at a number of Grand Velas properties in Mexico.
The offer is good on travel in all of 2018 and 2019, with blackout dates from December 20, 2018, through January 2, 2019. The bonuses apply to new reservations of 10 or more rooms or suites. A three-night minimum stay is required. Bonuses will be distributed upon completion of travel.

Los Cabos’ tourism sector remains strong, Rodrigo Esponda, managing director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board, tells us.
