A new nightspot is set to open its doors on Valentine's Day in North Carolina when The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte opens The Punch Room—an intimate after-hours retreat for swank libations.
Anchored by spirits-based punches, hand-crafted cocktails, hot libations and infused drinks, The Punch Room is meant to evoke the glamour of historic lounges. (Good to know: Guests can also opt for traditional wines and spirits and select light dining choices.) Looking for exclusivity? This is it: The bar can host a maximum of 37 guests at a time.
To keep things comfortable, the bar will have plush sofas and armchairs—while a curated music vibe of blues, soul and doo wop will further set the mood.
Located on the 15th floor, The Punch Room will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Nice touch: An on-site cocktail carbonator will add fizz to the drink selections.
The Punch Room will open on Valentine’s evening, in the intimate setting of the hotel’s former Urban Sip. While reservations will not be accepted for The Punch Room, early arrivals may queue for Friday and Saturday admittance in the hotel’s relaxed Lobby Lounge, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The new night spot will not operate for a brief period between February 23 and 28, but otherwise will become a permanent, high-profile new after-hours destination for hotel guests and the public. A select portion of each evening’s seating will be reserved for registered guests of the hotel.
