Like many of us, The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago is kicking off the New Year with a plan to get in shape. The luxury hotel will kick off phase one of a multi-part renovation project in January. it will remain open throughout the project.
The January update will see the hotel refresh its suites, corridors and fitness centers, plus the addition of a new Ritz Carlton Club Lounge. San Francisco-based design firm BAMO has been tapped to oversee the project, with phase one scheduled for completion in spring 2016.
The new Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge will be on the hotel's 15th floor, offering scenic views of Chicago (including the Magnificent Mile and Lake Michigan), plus several amenities, like a separate library available for guests to lounge in or rent for private events.
All 90 of the property's suites will get upgraded bathrooms, with arctic glacier white vanities, grey linear stone floors and separate shower and toilet rooms. The updated fitness center will offer unobstructed views of Navy Pier, Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago.
Phase two of the renovations will begin in January 2017.
