The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota recently completed a big renovation project that added a new Club Level and Lounge and updated the hotel's lobby, 266 guestrooms and ballroom and meeting spaces.
Led by Jude Mulhern of Bilkey Llinas Design, based in West Palm Beach, FL, the new guestroom design draws inspiration from the Gulf seascape and history, with a color scheme meant to evoke the nearby Selby Botanical Gardens. Artwork displayed in the rooms is a selection of images from local artists and students of the Ringling School of the Arts.
Guestroom corridors and elevator lobbies now have an oversized contemporary moiré wall covering meant to be reminiscent of sand dunes and sea, offset by soft textured corridor carpet.
The new Club Level and Lounge continues the seashore theme of the guestrooms with locally-captured photographs of seagulls and shore life, alongside colorful artwork and décor reflecting the Selby Botanical Gardens.
