You hear a lot about what makes a luxury travel advisor great. Knowledge, customer service skills, patience and dedication are all necessary skills to have, but the one thing you can’t do without is relationships. I hear all the time in other industries that it’s “a relationship business.” Well, I can tell you, in order to satisfy the most affluent clients looking for recognition and over-the-top service, nothing will trigger that feeling unless you know who you are booking with personally. Ten years ago that was the foundation behind Luxury Travel Advisor — to inspire you, the reader, with content that speaks to your needs as a true consultant, giving you the ability to trust our recommendations and build a relationship with the words that inspired you.

This past month, we celebrated our 10th anniversary at the newly opened Knickerbocker Hotel with many of those that have graced our covers over the years. It was an amazing evening, light on speeches and more about networking and building relationships. Many of our dedicated staff were on hand, as well; they truly are the heart and soul of everything we do. I would like to thank my entire staff for their passion and all of you, the luxury travel advisors, for keeping us inspired. I look forward to celebrating those advisors that will make our covers in the next 10 years.
