It is about the access!

Back in college, I worked for a popular theme park in Orlando. During this time, one of the most amazing benefits of being employed with the park was getting “back doored” onto rides, bypassing sometimes hours of guests waiting in lines. It was so cool walking behind the scenes, sometimes areas where the normal rider wasn’t allowed, and then popping up to walk right onto a waiting elevator, limousine or rocket. It was especially nice during the hot summer months when you could take advantage of the pumping air-conditioning (my hair loved it most)! The relationships I had with certain cast members gave me access to this behind-the-scenes look at this locale.

What about your clients? They ask you to book them the most private table at La Vitrola during an anniversary trip in Cartagena or maybe a suite in the ultra-exclusive Hotel Splendido. Whatever it might be, you won’t find your connection in your GDS. It is the relationships that get your clients access to the best this amazing world of travel can offer. Where do you make those connections? You can scour the pages of Luxury Travel Advisor and take note of the amazing suggestions our editors give you. That will get you in the door—but getting something really special to make that vacation memorable is by a handshake or a meeting at industry events like Luxury Travel Exchange International.

Our debut event is on target to be the most exclusive event for today’s luxury travel advisor. This is the perfect opportunity to walk through the pages of Luxury Travel Advisor and Travel Agent. Suppliers who advertise here will be participating in the Exchange tradeshow ready to share with you the latest on their company’s developments. Many are participating in our appointment program where you can sit down and have a dedicated conversation about your business and make that important connection. In the same manner, Travel Agent’s Top 25 and 30under30 recipients are on tap to attend as are many of the covers of Luxury Travel Advisor and our esteemed advisory board. You can learn and network with colleagues, suppliers and more.

Excited to unveil our new LTX to you this November. Some ask if my “in” at the popular Florida theme park is still in place. I won’t let you in on all my secrets but I am visiting the happiest place on Earth this January—I just love backstage access!
