Second Annual Hawaii Travel Exchange Announces 2011 Dates

NEW YORK, NY—May 23, 2011. Hawaii Travel Exchange, presented by Travel Agent and Luxury Travel Advisor magazines, along with partner Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau, has announced its 2011 dates as October 24th to 26th in Maui, Hawaii. Now in its second year, Hawaii Travel Exchange will continue its successful format of bringing together 150 fully hosted, pre-qualified travel agents who actively book leisure travel with local Hawaii suppliers representing hotels and resorts, spas, destinations, tour operators, transportation companies, activities and airlines. Fully hosted agents will receive flight transportation to Maui, courtesy of MLT Vacations and accommodations at host hotel, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa.

“We’re thrilled to bring such a wonderful event back to Hawaii again this year,” stated Julie Zadeh, managing director of Travel Trade Marketing of the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau. “Based on the overwhelmingly positive response we received from participating travel agents last year, we are confident that this event will serve as an instrumental tool to refresh and educate sellers on the merits of Hawaii. They’ll be able to experience Hawaii firsthand and bring back that personal knowledge to their clients.”

During this exclusive three-day event, the Hawaii Travel Exchange will include dedicated time for pre-scheduled, one-to-one appointments between travel agents and suppliers as well as present informative educational sessions. Participants will also be able to take part in multiple exciting networking opportunities throughout the event to build valuable relationships in a unique format.

“As the only media company committed to Hawaii with print products, digital products and events, Hawaii Travel Exchange offers the chance for our top subscribers to experience all that they have read throughout the year related to Hawaii from us personally. This makes us unique in our partnership with island suppliers to help drive new bookings and transactions to Hawaii,” said John McMahon, vice president and group publisher of Travel Agent and Luxury Travel Advisor magazines. “It also means that we can focus on recruiting top travel agents who are serious about Hawaii, and getting greater exposure of this destination to the travel professional community.”

“We’re thrilled to participate as a premier sponsor for the second year in a row and provide transportation to the qualified travel agents that will attend Hawaii Travel Exchange 2011,” said Ken Pomerantz, president of MLT Vacations. “We truly believe in the value of this event and look forward to another great year.”
