Select Wine Journeys has announced its 2013 program of wine tours in the historic Touraine region of France’s Loire Valley . The Loire Valley is often referred to as “The Garden of France” for its vineyards, abundance of fresh food and markets, as well as its landscape of rivers, vine-covered slopes and open skies.
A variety of week-long tours will be offered April through October 2013 focusing on four themes: Walking & Wine, History & Wine, Regional Cuisine & Wine, and introducing Photography & Wine. Each journey is restricted to a maximum of eight people.
Each seven-day/six-night tour week includes accommodation at a manor and dining in local restaurants in the towns and villages of Touraine . Guests will visit local AOC wineries, many of which do not have regular visitation, explore local markets and enjoy picnic lunches or dine in the vineyards themselves or at a local establishment.
