This month, Shangri-La Hotel, Toyko, has opened 10 new executive suites. Perfect for escaping the busy metropolis, the suites will have separate living areas and multiple bathrooms with a bathtub and rain shower. We always prefer rooms with a view, and the Executive Suites, located on floors 31 through 35, have views of either the Imperial Garden or Tokyo Bay.
Guests of the Executive Suites will have access to the Horizon Club Lounge, which provides a dedicated concierge service, a private lounge and additional amenities like daily breakfast and evening cocktails.
Traveling down under? Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns, has undergone its own transformation and has reopened 36 refurbished Horizon Club rooms and its Horizon Club Lounge. Each room has a balcony that faces the marina, and forget adapters because the rooms have international sockets.

The lounge has 2,928 square feet and is the ideal setting for business meetings with an executive boardroom with state-of-the-art technology. The new look is complete with bar and dining areas and flexible seating for groups. The design was inspired by the Great Barrier Reef and uses blonde timber panels and a custom-dyed carpet.
