Singita Announces New Managers for South African Lodges

Big news from South Africa's safari scene today, where Singita has appointed a new General Manager and Lodge Manager at Singita Kruger National Park. Peter Sawyer will be General Manager of Singita Kruger National Park and Bazil Roth joins the Singita team as Lodge Manager for Singita Lebombo Lodge.

Peter Sawyer joined Singita as General Manager of Singita Kruger National Park on July 1, 2013, coming from the Onguma Game Reserve where he was Operations Manager. Prior to his time at Onguma, Sawyer worked for Namibia Travel Connection for nine years, where he eventually worked his way up to Director. He has also served as General Manager for AndBeyond Namibia and General Manager of Leisure and Touring for HRG Rennies Travel Namibia.

In addition to his lodge management and travel industry experience, Sawyer earned a National Diploma in Nature Conservation, and with this new appointment, he plans to work with Singita’s conservation programs to maintain and protect over 568,300 acres of land, wildlife and communities in Africa.

Bazil Roth, meanwhile, will be joining Singita Lebombo as Lodge Manager from Sanctuary Retreats in Botswana, where he was Operations Manager and oversaw four sanctuary retreats, camps and lodges. Roth also served as General Manager of Chief’s Camp, one of the lodges under the Sanctuary Retreats umbrella. He was originally a field guide, and also spent time in Tanzania and South Africa.
