The Leading Hotels of the World has accepted six new members into its exclusive fold.
Reopening at the end of June, The Sport Hotel Hermitage & Spa sits within the ski area of Soldeu, Andorra. Guest accommodations are in 135 junior suites and suites with views of the mountain and Grandvalira ski slopes. Dining outlets include Arrels by Gaig, serving Mediterranean-Catalan cuisine; the gastronomic Origen by Jubany; Sol i Neu Club Hermitage, serving typical Andorran fare; the informal Pub Villager; and Glassbar 1.850 for cocktails and light fare. In addition to skiing and golf, guests can enjoy the swimming pools and the Sport Wellness Mountain Spa & Fitness Center. Other facilities include two meeting rooms and a kids club.
In the heart of Amsterdam's museum district is the Conservatorium Hotel. Built on the former site of the Sweelink Music Conservatory, it features 129 rooms and suites all with large bathrooms, in-room wifi and private bars. Overlooking Paulus Potterstraat and the Stedelijk Museum, Tunes Restaurant serves both a la carte and tasting menus of local dishes. Arakur Ushuaia Resort & Spa sits in Argentina's Reserva Natural Cerro Alarken, just a few minutes from downtown Ushuaia. There are 131 rooms and suitse, a gourmet restaurant, pool bar and wine cellar. A spa is set to open in 2015.
The recently renovated Casa San Agustin is a luxury boutique hotel inside Cartagena's colonial walled city - designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hotel is made up of three adjacent houses, and has combined new design elements while maintaining the original features (think frescoes and wooden beamed ceilings). The 30 rooms and suites feature high ceilings and expansive bathrooms (ask about which rooms have private plunge pools or a Jacuzzi). Alma Restaurant serves original fusion cuisine, while the bar area has a menu of hand-crafted cocktails and tapas. Additional facilities include tennis, an outdoor pool and a conference room.
In the heart of Jakarta's Menteng district, The Hermitage has 90 rooms and suites. Restaurants include L'Avenue, a chic brasserie; and the Courtyard Cafe, offering Asian cuisine. For cocktails, guests can choose 1923 Lounge or the roof-top pool terrace bar with views of the city. In addition to the pool and gym, there are six banquet and meeting venues.
