Sofitel Enters Central Asia with Luxe New Digs in Turkmenistan

We've heard that Sofitel Luxury Hotels is entering the Central Asian fray for the very first time with the opening of Sofitel Ashgabat Oguzkent, a premier business hotel located in Turkmenistan

The new uber contemporary hotel, boasting a facade of white marble and glass, couples Turkmen traditions with modern influences, featuring 299 rooms, razor-sharp business amenities, three unique restaurants and a health and fitness center.

Make sure to check out one of the 48 suites: 10 Junior Suites, 24 Prestige Suites and 14 Presidential Suites, each with a name that refers to the country's history.

Amu Darya is designed to be an interactive buffet with a fully open kitchen - during the balmy months, guests can dine poolside on a sweeping outdoor terrace. As for Akhal Teke, named after the thoroughbred horse, this restaurant will serve up Turkish, Lebanese and Turkmen cuisine in a traditional setting.

Guests will definitely want to check out La Table, the panoramic bar and restaurant on the top floor of the hotel, boasting French fare with a focus on wine and cheese.

For those in search of health and wellness, the Sofitel Ashgabat Oguzkent also offers one indoor pool, two outdoor pools, 12 massage rooms (one solely just for couples), two saunas and two hammams.

Nice Touch: Guests will be greeted by a gurgling fountain and a towering 12-story atrium.
