This looks like a cool departure from the typical “big-five” tour safari: Completely Unique Safaris, a South African family-owned and operated company that specializes in customized safari experiences, has announced the Leopard and Art Safari.
The seven-day/six-night trip combines a highly focused leopard-tracking safari with a contemporary art immersion program. The trip is in partnership with The Gavin Project, which specializes in emerging contemporary African art with an emphasis on potential future investment.
The trip will also include intimate, private pop-up art galleries in the middle of the bush with some of Africa’s most promising and “under the radar” emerging contemporary artists and have private access to their ‘mobilized’ studios and galleries. More than 20 percent of the trip cost will be donated to select NGOs and will be used in conservation, arts and education initiatives going forward.
The Leopard and Art Safari will take place in South Africa and will take travelers on an in-depth wildlife exploration through the country, including two different regions to remote and undiscovered expanses. This customizable trip will let visitors see a side of African art not normally available to collectors and a species that is not often seen by visitors on traditional safaris.
The all-inclusive seven-day/six-night safari is priced from $79,000, per person with a minimum of four guests. The trip includes private jet charter within Africa; private pop-up art galleries in the bush; private local guides and trackers; private open game viewing vehicles; transfers by private vehicles and helicopter; private sole use of luxury accommodations at specifically chosen exclusive lodges; all meals and unlimited snacks and beverages; VIP meet and greet services; laundry services and all gratuities, taxes and fees; and much more. Good to know: International airfare is not included, and additions and modifications to the itinerary can be added as desired.
