Seville's Hotel Alfonso XIII Reopens

Major news in Seville today: The historic Hotel Alfonso XIII has reopened following a $25 million, 10-month restoration. The reopening is the first of four Starwood Luxury Collection hotels that will undergo a multi-million dollar restoration and will reopen within the next year, including Hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastian scheduled to debut in July 2012; Prince de Galles in Paris and The Gritti Palace in Venice; both scheduled to open in early 2013.

The hotel’s three signature hotel suites are called the Reales Alcázares Suite, the Torreón Suite and the Royal Suite are at once inspired by Seville’s rich history and designed to cater to a new generation of affluent travelers.  The Reales Alcázares Suite has top views over the Real Alcázar’s gardens and fountains. The Torreón Suite has a private terrace that extends out into the corner tower of the hotel. Finally, the Royal Suite is decorated with antique pieces, including the "Bargueño," a Spanish Renaissance cabinet inlayed with mother-of-pearl.
