Acqualina Resort & Residences, Sunny Isles Beach, FL

Acqualina Resort closed its doors on March 21 and, truly, I never thought that day would come. We have weathered many storms and proven resiliency countless times before, including Category 5 hurricanes, yet nothing that engulfed us so fast and furiously, quite literally taking the entire world’s breath away with seemingly no end in sight. As a result, so many of the wonderful humans who are the very pillar of our culture are no longer here, which is just absolutely heartbreaking and gut-wrenching. Those who infused Acqualina with spirit, passion and love throughout the years are now unable to contribute to the very place we call home. And while the majority of our team is with their families, we still have many reporting for duty every day, working diligently to maintain our building, as well as take great care of our residents.

Being in an empty place that is usually bursting with life evokes immense sadness and we all wish nothing more to return to a life that allows us to celebrate hospitality and each other once again. Most importantly, and above all else, every one of the Acqualina family is healthy and safe. We are also immensely grateful to all across the globe who have sent messages of encouragement, comfort and support in such difficult times. Rest assured, we will be back.
