Starwood Hotels & Resorts will open Le Méridien Visconti Rome by the end of 2016. The hotel’s opening will mark the brand’s reentry into Italy. The hotel will open after an extensive renovation and conversion of the Visconti Palace Hotel.
Le Méridien will be located in the Prati district near the Vatican and Castel Sant’ Angelo. It will also be near posh shopping and within walking distance of Piazza di Spagna.
The guestrooms and suites will surround guests with a mid-century modern vibe. There will also be a rooftop terrace, all-day dining restaurant, a breakfast room and bar and a fitness area. We also hear the lobby will be reimaged and that the signature Latitude Bar will serve coffee specialties from the partner Illy
Starwood has 23 hotels in Italy currently. The brands include St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, Sheraton, Westin and Four Points by Sheraton.
