Switzerland's Beau-Rivage Palace Opens New Bar

Heads up, imbibers: Switzerland's Beau-Rivage Palace has unveiled a new bar that we hear specializes in unique signature cocktails.

The bar has more than 250 spirits, including rarities such as A. E. DOR le signe du temps (only 17 bottles in the world), Havana Club Maximo and White Bowmore 1964. Each cocktail is an original creation and is served in a unique glass. Ice cubes are carved-to-serve from a large block of ice, and each drink is accompanied by a recipe for the customer to take home. And once a drink has been prepared, it is lightly sprayed with a regional fruit-flavored eau de vie from an antique perfume atomizer (reportedly a nod to Coco Chanel's frequent visits to the bars of the Beau-Rivage Palace). Best of all: Regular customers can reserve their own personal bottle, which will be stored in a special cupboard for them. And the finishing touch:

Future plans call for the construction of a large outdoor terrace, where guests can sip cocktails while overlooking Lake Geneva, adjacent to the hotel.

The Beau-Rivage Palace is located at Place du Port 17-19 in Lausanne, Switzerland. For more information, visit www.brp.ch.
