Tony Ingrao Tapped for Baccarat Residences New York

Starwood Capital Group and Tribeca Associates have announced that interior designer Tony Ingrao, founder of Ingrao Inc., is bringing his aesthetic and style to the new Baccarat Residences New York. The 50-story glass tower designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill is Baccarat’s first residential project in North America, and Ingrao’s first full-scale development project.

Ingrao was tasked with bringing the French brand’s distinct style to life in 61 private Residences ranging from one- to four-bedrooms, as well as one five-bedroom penthouse duplex with an outdoor loggia. The building is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2014, coinciding with Baccarat’s 250th anniversary.

The project is said to represent a new chapter for Ingrao, known for his residential work with Manhattan’s elite and celebrities, including Howard and Beth Stern as well as Jack and Suzy Welch.

A separate residential lobby, also designed by Ingrao, sets the stage for a dramatic arrival. White, polished Polaris marble with Basalt and Kenya black marble insets complement the metallic champagne-colored ceiling, while the lobby walls boast gray mirrored glass flanked by floor-to-ceiling Zircote wood paneling. The reception desk is made of pleated, back-lit white onyx and is backed by custom-made textured glass. An elevator foyer featuring textured bronze panels and gold accents provides a backdrop to the building’s passenger elevators, which will be used exclusively for the residential tower.

For the interiors of each of the 61 residences, Ingrao built upon the brand’s history. A signature Baccarat fixture will be incorporated in the foyer of each residence. Each apartment showcases a natural palette, as well as solid white oak floors. Design features include floor-to-ceiling living room windows and a Master Bathroom outfitted in Lido white honed marble.

The SieMatic kitchens, customized by Ingrao, feature lacquer ebonized walnut, brushed nickel cabinets with nickel frames and glass cabinets, and white Iceberg polished granite slab countertops. Also integrated are Miele and Sub-Zero in the kitchens, and Kallista wash basins in the bathrooms. Available in both closed and open formats, the open kitchen design presents an extension of the living space.

The master bathroom in each residence is outfitted with a Victoria & Albert soaking tub, a glass-enclosed shower with a Fantini Milano chrome rain jet shower head, and white marble, including the floor, walls and vanity. Ceiling heights for the Residences range from 10 feet and eight inches to 14 feet, with duplexes offering double-height living rooms with over 20-foot high ceilings. All residences feature floor-to-ceiling windows with oversized glass panels as well as Northern and Southern exposures, and a Zircote wood-paneled entryway boasting a custom-made door handle with Baccarat crystal inlay.

The Penthouse at the Baccarat Residences offer 7,381 square feet of interior space and 360 degree city and Central Park views. The duplex space, featuring 14-foot ceilings on both floors, incorporates many of the hallmark design elements of the Residences, including pre-wiring for integrated technology. With 1,240 square feet of entertaining space within its living room and gallery, the Penthouse enjoys 32 linear feet of glass wall facing views of Central Park. The Living Room features a gas fireplace and wet bar, complete with a Lido marble top, Kohler Brinx round steel faceted sink and Fantini Vanezia polished chrome fixtures with glass handles. The Ingrao custom-designed staircase with open Lido marble treads and glass railing provides entry to the second floor. The Penthouse, like all residences, also includes Crestron wall-mounted touch screens.

In addition to Ingrao’s designs, Baccarat Residences New York also provides access to the hotel’s offerings, such as 24-hour concierge service, fitness center, private dining room and event space with catering kitchen, housekeeping services, and private entrance for Residence owners. Residential owners will also enjoy the hotel’s full-service, 10,000 square foot spa complete with a 55-foot pool, a standalone “crystal bar” surrounded by an outdoor Tuileries-style terrace, as well as an on-site private function room, restaurant and bar, available for catering and in-residence dining. The Crestron system allows direct access to hotel services via the electronically automated system.

Baccarat Residences offers layouts from approximately 932 square feet to the 7,381 square-foot penthouse.
