The Cannes Film Festival recently wrapped with Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan nabbing the coveted Palme d’Or for “Winter Sleep”. From the red carpet, the jetset crowd bounced between the famous palace hotels on La Croisette, and hit up the Silencio nightclub by David Lynch.

North in the French capital, Four Seasons George V hosted the Kardashian clan for Kimye’s rehearsal dinner (and it’s also hosting a Beatles photography exhibit). Also in Paris: The Shangri-La Hotel, quite popular among American clients, recently debuted a new terrace restaurant, along with its seasonal summer terrace to watch the sunset with cocktails in hand. From July 12- August 6, the hotel will open a rooftop lounge on the terrace of the exclusive Shangri-La suite (normally reserved for guests) for Krug Champagne and caviar tastings. While southwest in Aquitaine, the talk of the town in Bordeaux is the upcoming restaurant by Joel Robuchon.

In the glam-again Mediterranean enclave of Montenegro, the Aman Sveti Stefan has unveiled a new spa, and we’re holding our breath for the summer opening of the Regent Porto Montenegro.

Monte Carlo Sporting Summer Festival

Another noted debut for the party crowd: the Hard Rock Ibiza has officially opened with an outdoor concert terrace for live performances by international music stars. (Robin Thicke and Snoop Dogg are just two of the talked-about performances for the summer.) Meanwhile in Monte Carlo, music lovers won't want to miss the 40th Sporting Summer Festival, featuring performances by some of the world's music legends.

Luna Hotel Baglioni

In London, the Shangri-La Hotel in the Shard is getting lots of buzz for its sky-high bar, restaurant, and rooms with the best views in town. They even come with binoculars. Nobu has also revealed new details about the upcoming Shoreditch hotel. 

In suite news out of Italy: Luna Hotel Baglioni has unveiled a dazzling terrace suite, while the Palazzo Parigi launched its Duomo Suite in Milan.
