Abercrombie & Kent Launches Value Departures

LAS VEGAS - Abercrombie & Kent next month is launching a new program called Connections by Abercrombie & Kent which promises to be on average 30 percent less than the tour operator’s luxury small group journeys.

“Since I joined the company in January my mission has been to honor the tradition of A&K by delivering exceptional value. With the help of our colleagues in Chicago and all over the world, we’ve done it,” Phil Otterson, president of Abercrombie & Kent told Virtuoso travel advisors who have gathered for the consortium’s annual gathering in Las Vegas this week.

Otterson, a former long-time Tauck executive, has apparently spent the past eight months creating the program, which will include 17 destinations on six continents, using A&K’s world-famous tour directors and resident experts. The Connections program will assemble groups of 24 to 28 guests with guaranteed departures.

“We’ve made full use of our secret weapons, our local destination experts around the world, who will allow us to connect your guest to authentic experiences that only a local can find and refine,” said Otterson, promising the Virtuoso group of advisors that they will have brochures within the next three weeks.
