Mountain Trek Announces Annual Hiking Vacation through Southern Japan

Mountain Trek fitness retreat and health spa, North America’s only mountain hiking weight-loss resort, has announced its annual adventure trek that will take place in Japan in the Spring of 2014.

Every year, Mountain Trek leads clients to world-famous destinations such as Mt. Everest basecamp, Machu Piccu in Peru, and the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail in Spain, all the while ensuring the resort’s ideals and goals of healthy living are adhered to. Next Spring, there will be two one-week all-inclusive hiking excursions to Japan that will include Mt. Fuji, the famous ivy bridges in the Shikoku region and the Tokaido, the traditional path of the Shogun. Both one-week treks will include luxury accommodations, gourmet meals, private ground transportation and relaxing in natural hot springs after evening. Clients will also learn about ancient Japanese customs and enjoy stunning views of many of Japan’s sacred mountains.

The first tour starts in Tokyo and will feature hiking Mt. Myojinga to take in the stunning views of Mt. Fuji; walking a portion of the Tokaido, the traditional path of the Shogun; the Hasedera walk through the hills above the ancient capital of Kamakura to visit Zen temples, shrines and the Great Buddha; relaxing in an Onsen, a traditional hot spring accommodation every night including the world-famous Kawazu Onsen.

The second tour begins in Osaka and will feature a pilgrimage to many different mountain-top Skikoku Temples; ascending Tsurugi-san, Shikoku’s most sacred peak; crossing the famous vine bridges over the Iya-gawa River and relaxing in an Onsen every night. An additional three-day tour of Kyoto can also be booked.

Pricing will be announced this September. Mountain Trek is currently accepting pre-registration.

Located at Ainsworth Hot Springs in southern British Columbia, Mountain Trek caters to clients from around the world who want to improve their health and fitness, lose weight and have a great vacation in one of the last untouched mountain wildernesses in North America.
