Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel has introduced a new family tour, accompanied by the Inca puppy “Allco,” where parents and children enjoy a visit together to the landmark citadel with a special guide, maps and a children’s explorer kit.
The new Adventures with Allco in Machu Picchu tour offers "a dynamic family experience exploring the wonders of our famous citadel and learning about its history, architecture and mysteries,” Angie Clavijo, general manager of the hotel, said in a written release.
The half-day tour, available for children six to 11 years old and their parents, includes:
- Entrance tickets to Machu Picchu
- Roundtrip bus tickets to Machu Picchu
- Tourist guide for the child/children
- Tourist guide for the parent(s)
- Box lunches
- Explorer Kit for each child comprising a map of Machu Picchu, an Allco Inca puppy stuffed animal, a hat and a magnifying glass.
Allco the Inca puppy was created in the image of the Peruvian hairless dog, a breed which originated in pre-Inca Peruvian cultures.
Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel emphasizes connecting families with the ancient history of Peru and local Andean culture while enabling them to spend time together by offering special programs and activities. “Time for Andean Tales,” Sumaq’s family storytelling about Andean legends, narrated by native Peruvians, has added readings of Allco’s adventures at Machu Picchu.
The hotel has now also introduced a special accommodation designed for families. The new Sumaq Deluxe Family Room offers four full-size beds accommodating up to four adults and four children.
Amenities include: Board games, slippers and bathrobes, bath amenities, welcome drink and special snacks for the kids; a hydrotherapy Jacuzzi; free wireless internet; coffeemaker with organic coffee; a minibar; two LED TVs with cable; Damana bath products and more.
In addition, children up to age 11 receive free half-board daily comprising buffet breakfast and either lunch or dinner.
